In the columns below you will find a column with a SID name, one for
playing or downloading the PC version of the SID and a column for
downloading the Commodore version.
The column for the PC version is a
dual purpose column, if you have the SidPlay plugin installed on your PC
you will be able to hear the SID by clicking on that column. If, after you
click on that column, you hear nothing... 1. Turn up your volumn... and 2.
If that doesn't work that means SidPlug is not working on your computer. If
you still want to download the PC version then hold down your Shift key and
then click on that column and you will then dwonload that file to your
computer.
By clicking on the third column you will be downloading the
original Commodore version of the file. If there were accompaning files
for the Commodore version then you will be downloading a .ZIP file so that
you get all related files to that SID.
NOTE: Internet Explorer v5.0 and above user's can Click here to
download the work around for listening to SID files from this website, (and any other web site that offers the
capability of listening to SID files while online. It is a registery hack. All you need to do is unzip the downloaded
file then from your desktop click on the start button, then click on run, then browse to the folder where you unzipped
npsidp-ie6.zip to and highlight npsidp-ie6.reg then click ok and this new registry will be added to your registry. You
should then be able to listen to those wonderful SID files of yesteryear.
Ok, a work around for playing a "selected" tune from the list below:
1.) You need to have WinAmp installed on your system,
2.) You also need the SidAmp plugin for WinAmp installed on your system as well.
If you have all of this, and your system works like mine, when you click on the middle column below you will get the file download dialogue. Just ckick on the "open" button and magically WinAmp will open up and the selected SID file will start playing. Just make sure that the background tune that starts automatically when you load this page has stopped playing before selecting a tune from below.
